Bits and Bobs

Well work has certainly been keeping me busy lately!

I have managed to fit in some ‘me time’ too, and enjoyed a fabulous, but extremely cold week in New York.
I’ve uploaded some pics here.

The beginning of the week was nice and sunny, despite the cold, but we did get some snow on the last day which resulted in my flight home being delayed by about 6 hours.

I’d never been to NYC before, so I had great fun visiting the tourist spots and the shops.I was quite well behaved though and only bought one pair of shoes, which is very good for me!
I have a bit of an obsession with shoes, so managing to limit myself to just one pair showed remarkable levels of will power!

A big thank you has to be said to Rachel for agreeing to have her home invaded for a few days!

In addition to NYC, I’ve also been over to Dublin a couple of times.
I did some work with BI Publisher for a client out there, and this week I gave a presentation on BI Publisher at the OUG Ireland Conference and exhibition.
My presentation was quite well attended and I managed to run through my first ‘live’ demo in a presentAtion without any mistakes, despite the fact my laptop was a bit poorly and blue-screened on me the day before!
I didn’t manage to get to any of the other presentation as I’d spent the morning checking mine, and SolStonePlus had a stand in the exhibition hall so I was on stand duty for the rest of the day.

I’ve done quite a bit of work with BI Publisher lately and have given a few demos to clients.
I’ll be building up some of the demos and looking to submit a few more presentations.

In other work stuff, it’s been just over a week since Mark left and set up as an independant consultant.
Although I’m sure our paths will continue to cross at various events, I just want to wish him all the best in his new venture.

Good Luck Mark!

    >Great pictures Lisa. NYC is a fun place to be a tourist. I’ve been working a project there since October, having never been there before. NYC has an energy all its own.BTW — only one pair of shoes is amazing restraint. I can’t begin to say the same….
